It has been a pleasure to work at Cheltenham racecourse over the past two seasons. Alongside my day to day commissions I have been studying for an MA in Photography and hope to finish this Autumn. Images from Cheltenham form a substantial part of my Final Project submission which focuses on the ongoing, traditional way of life underlying the word of horse racing. I am now at the editing and write-up stage, perhaps the most difficult part, and these are some of the images which might well be included in the final cut. As well as images form Cheltenham, there are also images of Lambourn and Middleham Gallops. A few of the images are on the walls of the new grandstand at Cheltenham and the fourth image also recently appeared as the front cover of the Jockey Club Kalendar magazine. The final submission will be of a number of prints, with a potential exhibition at some point in the future, combining some of these images with those from planned future visits to Ireland to continue my project.
