Newmarket Racecourse

Always a pleasure to work at Newmarket Racecourse for the Jockey Club, this time capturing the atmosphere of the Dubai Future Champions both in the Parade Ring and also behind the scenes. 2016 is the 350th anniversary of racing and history in the area. The Festival offers over two million pounds in prize money and combines world class two year olds with premier older age contests. A fitting highlight as the season here draws to a close. A great day and a wonderful atmosphere.

Jockey Club Front Cover

I was delighted to have my image on the front cover of the Jockey Club’s Kalendar magazine last season. It was a real surprise therefore to find that one of my images had made the front cover again, and so appears on the front of the Kalendar magazine for the 2016/17 jump season. The image, a close-up of a horse and jockey after a race, with the steam from the horse just visible in the slightly chill March air was taken at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year. Cheltenham Racing

Friday saw a return to Jumps at Cheltenham. Delighted to be working with the Jockey Club for a second season at Cheltenham Racecourse. My aim is to capture the Cheltenham racing with a behind the scenes feel of race day using¬†documentary style imagery with a fine art feel. The new grandstand to be officially opened next month is superb with lots more viewing opportunities of the course and the Parade Ring.

Middleham Gallops

A weekend away in Middleham, North Yorkshire last weekend. A fabulous location with 15 training stables, castle, good places to eat and a great pint of Theakstons brewed locally in Masham. Spent early Saturday morning on the gallops, and met trainer Phil Kirby who kindly gave us a lift across the top and the opportunity to meet some of his horses.
